Long story short. Evelyn had a great life; two loving parents, great friends, good grades. Then her mom died in a car accident. Her dad can't deal with the pain so he works all day and drinks all night. Her mother's death was hard enough, but she basically feels like she lost her father, too. She's incredibly depressed and tries so hard to hide it from everybody else. But now she's on the road to failing her senior year and she's going to crack sooner or later. No matter if she wants to or not.
Although her life sounds like she'd be a downer all the time, she's really not. She hides her feelings well. Her friends shouldn't be the most innocent of people, though. Evelyn lashed out a bit after her mother's death in an attempt to make her father notice her again. Then those friends just became easier, they numbed the pain. Along with that crew, there can be a few people that she lost touch with after her mom died. Maybe some fake friends or acquaintances. Anything.
Evelyn is pretty quiet when she's not around her friends, so any enemies she has probably wouldn't come from something that she has said. Maybe a few could be a friend that she dropped when she met her new friends. Or somebody who doesn't like her group of friends. And sometimes people just don't like each other.
Because she has lost her mother and basically lost her father, Evelyn finds letting other people in very difficult. She doesn't think she'll be able to handle letting somebody get close to her again, only to lose them in the end. This makes her lovers situation very difficult. Her freshman year she sort of lashed out and made out with some guys, too many guys. So there can be some past guys that she has been with. As far as current goes, somebody would have to break down her wall that she has put up around herself. So she's not expecting anything... but I think having a boy to do that would be the cutest thing! Haha.
